Donna Jean Kunch Sutton

Donna Jean Kunch Sutton

January 26, 2022, 89, Henderson –

Donna Jean Kunch Sutton passed away January 26, 2022. She was born in Tama, Iowa to the late John Paul Kunch and Marjorie Ellen Taylor Kunch on June 21, 1932. Donna attended the American Institute of Business and worked for many years as a medical secretary for various hospitals and clinics.

Donna was the eldest of seven siblings and despite the younger siblings having it so much easier than she did, she loved them anyway. She settled down half a country away from her family in Iowa, but she enjoyed family visits and reunions, and it was always a celebration when she came home.

Donna had a passion for crafting, and every project was made with someone special in mind. She never felt more fulfilled than when working on those projects or finding the perfect gifts to go along with them. Donna also loved to cook, and she viewed recipes as “suggestions” rather than instructions, making everything her own. Later in life, Donna spent hours completing detailed pictures from adult coloring books, finishing word search puzzles, or reading the most recent paperback novel to help her relax and pass the time.

She took delight in the wonders of nature, both plants and animals. This took many forms, including planting flowers in the garden, feeding hummingbirds in the yard, reading every issue of National Geographic from cover to cover, and owning a series of pet dogs (each of them named Snoopy). Donna lived a life full of joy and love, but despite over 60 years of entering the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes, the Prize Patrol never showed up at her door.

Graveside services will be held privately.

Donna is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Ronald Rufus Sutton; son, Michael Scott Sutton and wife, Henrietta; grandchildren, Jacob Scott Sutton and wife, Victoria Sutton, and Allison Marie Sutton; great-grandson, Henry Howard Sutton; siblings, Dwain Kunch, Richard Kunch, Robert Kunch, Donald Kunch, Diane Irving, and Kathleen Lockard; along with several special nieces and nephews.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
