NC 111 Crash Leaves One Dead

(GDN) — A Wayne County traffic crash leaves one person dead and two more in the hospital.  The State Highway Patrol says the fatal collision occurred Tuesday at the intersection of NC 111 and Daw Pate Road.  A 2020 Hyundai driven by 65-year-old Linda Vaughn-Morris of La Grange pulled out from a stop sign and was struck by a 2008 Pontiac driving north on 111.  Vaughn-Morris perished in the crash.  The two occupants of the Pontiac, 19-year-old Donavan Granger of Goldsboro and 21-year-old David Bryant of Goldsboro, suffered life threatening injuries and were airlifted to Vidant Medical Center.  No charges have been filed in the crash.  The State Highway Patrol says speed was a factor in the accident.
