Melinda Joyce Andrews Malpass, 65, of Faison, died Tuesday, January 25 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law; Faith Cameron and Richard of Faison; a brother, Jamie Andrews of Faison; her life-long best friend/sister, Debbie Guthrie; two cherished nephews, Ricky & Andy Scott Cameron, and special nephew Steve Vernon. Melinda is also survived by her special caregiver Toy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; J.E. and Joyce Tew Andrews; grandparents Edmond and Mattie Hatcher Andrews, and Colon & Ruth Tew. Also preceded by her husband Dennis Malpass; and her K9 companion, Sneaki.

Melinda had attended North Duplin High School and graduated from Topsail High School. She had been employed with the Federal Government in the Civil Service Department at Cherry Point in the Environmental Division. She also attended Clinton Church of Christ. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening beginning at 6 o’clock, with a funeral service at 7 o’clock in the Chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. Burial will take place on Friday, at 10 o’clock in the morning in the Faison Cemetery.
