Monika Bakacs Donnelly, 48, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Budapest, Hungary on April 19, 1973, she was the daughter of Eva Horvath Bakacs and the late Istvan Bakacs.

In addition to her mother, Monika is survived by her husband of 29 years, Daniel Donnelly; daughters, Breana Donnelly and Katelyn Donnelly; brother Steve Bakacs; and sister, Eva Bakacs.

Monika proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. She graduated from Liberty University with a Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling. Monika worked at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro as a Dental Assisting Instructor. She loved her family, friends, and took every chance she could to live to the fullest, with a camera in her hand.

The family will hold a time of celebration and remembrance from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.
