James Keith “Jamie” Summerlin, 54, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home. Born in Wayne County on March 10, 1967, he was the son of Lois Murphy Cox and the late James Edward Summerlin.

In addition to his mother, Jamie is survived by his wife, Meghan Goff Summerlin; children, William Skyler Summerlin, Jacob Cole Summerlin, Taylor Brooke Summerlin, and Emily Kaylin Summerlin; brother, Jonathan Eric Summerlin and wife, Kimberly; nephew, Hunter Summerlin; and his step-mother, Nancy Summerlin. He is also survived by his step-brothers, Lloyd Cox, Greg Cox and James Cox and wife Dawn.

Jamie worked for many years as a manager at Wilber’s Barbecue. He had a great love for Nascar Racing and UNC Tarheel Sports.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Jamie’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Greg Stancil officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
