Douglas Wayne Smith, a resident of the Faison area, departed this life at the age of 58 on Friday, January 14, 2022.

Doug had been employed with Bennie Grady Farms.

He is survived by his son, John Douglas Smith of Faison; a grandson, John Greyson Smith; his mother, Irene Gardner Hill of Seven Springs; a sister, Susie Smith of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Lonnie Smith of Goldsboro and Scott Smith of Deep Run; his grandmother, Joyce Gardner of Calypso; and his beloved dog, Bo-Bo.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Lee Smith; his father, L. D. Smith; his grandfather, Jimmie Gardner; and his grandmother, Ruby Gardner.

A private memorial service will be held.
