Thelma Rivenbark Warrick

January 9, 2022, 99, Goldsboro –

Thelma Rivenbark Warrick, 99, departed for her Heavenly home on Sunday, January 9, 2022. Thelma was born in Lenoir County to the late John David Rivenbark and Ora Mae Moore Rivenbark on March 19, 1922. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bryant Warrick; sons, Jesse Bryant Warrick and Ronnie Warrick; daughter, Ellen Grantham; and siblings, Lillie, Hazel, Alma, Eunice, Dell, Helen, Alton and an infant.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Thelma took great effort to care for her family. She lovingly attended the needs of many family members. Being “Grandma” to her grandchildren was one of the ultimate joys of life, for each was the apple of her eye.

A member of Emmaus Baptist Church in Dudley for nearly all of her life, Thelma devoted her time and gifts to her Lord through the ministries of the church. Always in attendance when the church doors opened, her love for Jesus was evident to all she met.

Nothing delighted Thelma more than beautiful flowers. Always enjoying seeing the blooms in her many flower beds, she was often excited and surprised to see gorgeous flowers spring forth. Anyone who passed her home could expect vibrant flowers for every season.

A service to celebrate Thelma’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Anne W. Long and husband, Bobby; brother, Jerry Rivenbark; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to Emmaus Baptist Church, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, NC 28333.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
