January 12, 2022, 72, La Grange –

Edward “Eddie” Albert Herring passed away on January 12, 2022. He was born in Lenoir County to the late Edward Matchett Herring and Audrey Suggs Herring on April 9, 1949. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Sutton Herring, and son, Kevin Brooks Herring.

Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, especially when a fishing pole was in tow. Riding his mule had become his favorite pastime in recent years. Eddie was a longtime member of La Grange Christian Church, and his family finds solace in knowing he is resting with his Savior.

A service to celebrate and remember Eddie’s life will be held by the graveside on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

Eddie is survived by his son, Matt Herring and wife, Misty; two granddaughters, Mallory and Macy Herring; and three siblings, Florence Smith, Carol Bartlett, and Chubby Herring.
