Wayne Country Day used a big second half to pull away from Wayne Prep, and the Chargers went on to defeat the Generals 91-65 on Friday evening.

The Generals opened the game on an 8-3 run, but Wayne Country Day responded and led 21-15 after eight minutes.

Despite never losing the lead, Wayne Country Day could not pull away from Wayne Prep in the second quarter.

A three-pointer by Jaquan Green cut the Chargers’ lead down to 38-32, but a basket from Jai Williams gave the Chargers a 40-32 advantage at halftime.

Wayne Country Day stepped up on both ends of the court in the third quarter. The Chargers outscored the Generals 25-8, and Wayne Country Day’s lead would never be cut to below 15 points at any point in the fourth quarter.

Collin Tanner led the Chargers’ offense with 28 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Cooper finished with 17 points, Nayshin Waller scored 14 points, while Williams and Carlos Vazquez added 10 points apiece.
