Mrs. Nellie Gray Kelly Hall, 77, resident of the Dudley area, passed away early Christmas morning 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hall; her parents, Ed and Lillie Herring Kelly; brothers, Harvey Kelly, Bobby R. Kelly, and Sam Kelly; sisters, Nancy K. Brock and Sadie K. Edwards; and nephews, Pete Vinson and Anthony Kelly.

She is survived by nieces, Phyllis K. Tucker, Wendy K. Stroud, and Vickie H. Hill, all of Mount Olive; nephews, Eddie King, Keith King, and Lance Hall, all of Dudley, Brian Kelly of Faison, and Michael Kelly of Mount Olive; 13 great nieces and nephews; several great-great-nieces and nephews; and her devoted caregivers.

Her life’s work allowed her many opportunities. She worked at Sam French’s Grocery and Kelly’s Grocery, and then Burlington Industries. Perhaps she is best remembered for her years of service in the medical practice of Dr. James R. Lambert. Co-workers, Robin Smith and Barbara Birkens became her adopted children.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, led by the Rev. Paul Rose, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. A Tyndall service
