Benton Edward Satterfield, 77, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Countryside Village in Pikeville. Born in Rocky Mount on October 20, 1944, he was the son of the late William E. Satterfield and Sybil Benton Satterfield.

In addition to his parents, Benton was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Ann B. Satterfield; second wife, Nancy H. Satterfield; and brothers, William L. Satterfield and Fred Satterfield.

Benton is survived by his daughter, Laura S. Rouse and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Benton Rouse and wife, Christa, Hallie Rouse, and Annsleigh Rouse; sister, Betty Jean Gurley and husband, David; brothers, Kenneth Satterfield and wife, Kay, Charlie Satterfield and wife, Margy, and Norwood Satterfield and wife, Joyce; and Nancy’s family, her sons, Brian Whitfield and Clifton Whitfield and their families.

Benton retired as Vice President of T.A. Loving in Goldsboro, after 32 years of service. He was proud to be a part of many projects completed across the state of North Carolina. Benton was a member of First Baptist Church and was attending Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church with his family.

A service to celebrate Benton’s life will be held by the graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Whitfield-Grady Family Cemetery, 626 John Green Smith Road, Kinston, NC. Rev. Barry Williamson will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home.
