After starting the season 0-6, Eastern Wayne has now won its second game in a row.

The Warriors shot the ball well and defeated county rival Southern Wayne 79-46 on Friday evening.

Jabari Pearsall led the Saints with 13 points, four assists and two steals. Tyquavious Williams scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds, while Chris McDuffie contributed six points and snagged five rebounds.

“I’m sure my guys will be ready to get back to work after this taste,” Southern Wayne head coach Brian West said.

Eastern Wayne (2-6 overall) hosts North Lenoir (1-5) on Thursday, while Southern Wayne takes on East Wake in its Quad County 3A Conference opener.
