United Way Accepting Nominations For Governor’s Volunteer Service Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Governor’s Service Award and Medallion Award for Volunteer Service

Now, more than ever, the need for volunteers is at its greatest. Many individuals and organizations have responded and continue to respond to the call. It is in this spirit that the Governor’s Service Award was created to recognize the significant contributions these entities make. Over the years, the award has been bestowed on thousands of North Carolinians who have shown concern and compassion for their neighbors by volunteering in their local community. Any person, group or entity from the public, non-profit and private sector may be nominated for an award.

Each county selects up to ten individuals, businesses, groups/teams and one paid Director of Volunteers to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. A local committee evaluates the nominations and nominates one for the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service, which is awarded to the top 20 volunteers in the state.

Online nomination forms are available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BMNJNTV. Downloadable forms can be found at https://www.nc.gov/agencies/volunteer/volunteer-awards.  You may also request a form by emailing [email protected].
