Jerry Kent Aldridge peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021. He was born in Lenoir County to the late James K. Aldridge and Frances Herring Aldridge on January 17, 1960. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Scarlet Williams.

Jerry lived a very quiet and private life. He enjoyed his hobbies and his work, and there wasn’t room for much else. With nearly 30 years as the owner of Aldridge Pest Control, Jerry had loyal clientele who became his friends. When he wasn’t working, Jerry loved being in the woods setting traps. From raccoons to otters and so many more, Jerry found pleasure in trapping and selling. Fishing was his second favorite pastime but any day spent outside was a good day. It wasn’t uncommon for Jerry to wait until the coldest, ugliest day to venture out into the yard for work. He was an avid collector of coins and arrowheads.

A service to remember Jerry’s life will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 2 p.m. A time of visitation will be held at Rouse Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. before processing to the cemetery for the funeral service.

Jerry is survived by his girlfriend of over 22 years, Betty Taylor; step-daughter, Tonia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Aldridge and wife, Karen; and special friends Randy and Susan Whitman.

Jerry’s family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice for their outstanding care of Jerry.
