Billy Leo Talton, 80, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Born in Johnston County on July 30, 1941, he was the son to the late Leo Franklin Talton and Lillian Balance Talton.

Billy was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church and attended the Friendship Sunday school class. Billy’s strong work ethics and hard work proved him to be a true entrepreneur at heart as he loved to turn a dollar. Billy loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed his time going to watch the races.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. A service to celebrate his life will be held in the chapel with Rev. Josh Whitfield and Rev. Barry Williamson at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Billy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Flowers Talton; grandsons, Kevin McMullen and wife, Charli, Chad Sparks and wife, Megan, Travis Sparks and wife, Ashley; granddaughter, Savannah Boyette; seven great grandchildren and sisters, Carol Green and husband, Billy and Kimberly Craig and husband, Ryan. Billy is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Tommy Flowers and wife, Peggy and Bobby Earnest and wife, Sherry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Tammie Lynn Williams and Cynthia Ann Talton Boyette.
