Wayne County’s Jobless Rate Continues To Decline

(GDN) — It’s the smallest step in the right direction as Wayne County’s unemployment rate decreases again.  According to the latest figures from the N.C Department of Commerce, Wayne County’s seasonally non-adjusted jobless rate dropped to 3.9% in October, down one-tenth of a point from the 4% unemployment rate recorded in September.  The latest figures are still much improved from one year ago when Wayne County’s jobless rate came in at 6% in October of 2020.   Nearly 2,000 people out of Wayne County’s 51,000 person labor force were considered unemployed this October.
