Suspect Arrested For August Shooting Incident Near Berkeley Blvd.

(GDN) — A suspect is arrested for a summertime shooting in Goldsboro. The Goldsboro Police Department reports 30-year-old Demoris S.Thompson of Goldsboro was taken into custody Friday during a traffic stop.

Thompson had been identified as a suspect in the August 11th “rolling shooting” in the area of Berkeley Boulevard. The incident ended in the Dream Makers parking area when one of the suspect vehicles crashed into a parked car. Several occupied vehicles belonging to uninvolved parties were damaged during the incident, but no injuries were reported. 

At the time of his arrest on Friday, Thompson was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin, clazepam pills, marijuana and another stolen firearm. Thompson was transported to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office, where he was served with the outstanding warrants and the new charges stemming from the traffic stop.

Thompson received a $250,000 secured bond for the outstanding warrants in reference to the Berkeley Boulevard incident. He also received a $40,000 secured bond for the charges related to the traffic stop.
