December 2, 2021, 90, Mount Olive –

Edna Gray Price Herring, 90, life long resident of Mount Olive, quietly laid down her earthly life Thursday evening, December 2, 2021, to gain life eternal with her Heavenly Father.

In her earlier years, as she worked at Mt.Olive Pickle Company, it was there that she met her future husband. Later she worked at White’s Department Store, but her main goal in life was providing a nurturing home for her family. She was a long time, faithful member of Unity Baptist Church of Mount Olive.

Mrs. Herring is survived by her children, Sheila Herring Harrell and husband, Mark, Sharon Herring Moody, Belinda Herring Tilley, all of Mount Olive, and Douglas Herring and wife, Angela, of Dudley; ten grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, and Bethany Harrell, Shannon Moody Best, Jonathan Moody and wife, Stephanie, Wesley, Adam, and Grayson Tilley, and Matthew and Kayla Herring; three great-grandchildren, Carissa Best, and Trevor and Logan Moody; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Marvin Herring; her parents, John Dallas Price and Effie Holloman Price; a great-grandson, Bryson Ray Best; and her fourteen siblings, Pink and Ivey Price, Bessie P. Bland, Cullen, Melvin, Marvin, John, Allen, Harvey Ray, and Dallas Price, Carmie P. McCullen, George, Norman, and Eddis “Man” Price.

Visitation will be Monday, December 6, at Tyndall Funeral Home beginning at 1 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Ronnie Wise. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The family also welcomes friends and relatives to the home of Belinda H. Tilley and sons.
