Nearly 66,000 Have Received At Least One COVID Vaccine Dose In Wayne County

(GDN) — Wayne County’s new cases of coronavirus remain relatively flat while the county’s vaccination rate continues to slowly increase. 

According to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 264 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Wayne County over the past two weeks.  Wayne County has recorded 312 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began. 

Thursday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 65,874 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County, which represents 53% of the county’s population.  59,333 people have been fully vaccinated, which is 48% of the population of Wayne County.

The COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots remain available through the Wayne County Health Department.  Children 5-11 can now receive the Pfizer vaccine through the Wayne County Health Department.  Visit WayneGov.com/vaccine to schedule a vaccination appointment.
