Gilbert Hudson Cutlip, Jr. peacefully passed away in the early hours of Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was born to the late Gilbert Hudson Cutlip, Sr. and Linda Starns Cutlip in Washington, D.C. on October 31, 1965.

His time at work was spent as an assembler for SPX. Gilbert had a great love for golf. If it was a beautiful day, he enjoyed being on the links sharing shots and laughter with his friends. With a great sense of humor, Gilbert was quite the cut-up. He always looked for new ways to prank his wife, children, and many friends. Gilbert was a loving husband and father. Of utmost importance to Gilbert was the concern and protection of his family. A great provider, Gilbert always ensured that his family had everything they needed. For many years he volunteered his time coaching his daughter’s t-ball and basketball teams and also served as a leader with his son’s Cub Scout Troop.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Grace Baptist Church, 1715 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Gilbert’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Jason Stoeber officiating.

Gilbert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Andrea Beck Cutlip; children, Adrienne Nance and husband Adam, Dakota Cutlip and Madison Cutlip; brother, Ricky Cutlip and wife Lisa; sister, Dorothy Cutlip; and mother-in-law, Janice Beck.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
