NCDOL Presents Award To Daniels And Daniels Construction Co.

The N.C. Department of Labor recognized Daniels and Daniels Construction Co. for its completion of two Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) projects, Coastal Elementary School and Catherine Lake Elementary School in Onslow County. The program recognizes companies for a commitment to the safety and health of their employees.

Jiles Manning, industrial hygiene consultant, and Chuck Murdock, safety consultant, presented the awards to Daniels and Daniels Construction Co. and the subcontractors involved with the two projects during an awards ceremony held Monday, Nov. 29. Labor Commissioner Josh Dobson spoke of the importance of safety and health and the NCDOL’s commitment to keeping the North Carolina workforce safe.

“In an especially challenging time, companies involved in our SHARP program, like Daniels and Daniels Construction Co., have shown a strong commitment to workplace safety and health,” Labor Commissioner Josh Dobson said. “Daniels and Daniels Construction Co. even went above and beyond and completed two SHARP projects at the same time.”

SHARP is administered by the labor department’s Consultative Services Bureau under its Occupational Safety and Health Division. The program is designed for small to mid-size employers that have established, implemented and maintained exceptional workplace safety standards.

“I appreciate the hard work and dedication to safety shown by our employees and all of the subcontractors working on our jobsites,” said Mike Bryan, Corporate Safety and Health Director. “Participation in the SHARP process is a vital step toward ensuring that all workers go home safely at the end of each day.”

Daniels and Daniels Construction Co. is a full-service general contractor serving mostly eastern North Carolina from Raleigh to the coast. Daniels and Daniels Construction Co. has been working with NCDOL’s Consultative Services Bureau for many years and achieved their SHARP status in 2016. They have since completed four successful SHARP projects.
