Wayne County’s latest unemployment figures show a significant month-over-month improvement. According to the latest figures from the N.C. Department of Commerce, Wayne County’s seasonally non-adjusted jobless rate decreased to 4.0% in September. Wayne County Public Schools reported a COVID-19 cluster on Tuesday involving five students in the fourth/fifth grade multiage class at Fremont Elementary.
