Wayne County’s Unemployment Rate Down To 4% In September

Wayne County’s latest unemployment figures show a significant month-over-month improvement.  According to the latest figures from the N.C. Department of Commerce, Wayne County’s seasonally non-adjusted jobless rate decreased to 4.0% in September.  That’s down from the 4.7% unemployment rate recorded in August and much improved from the 6.4% jobless rate seen in September of 2020. …read more »

Wayne County Public Schools reported a COVID-19 cluster on Tuesday involving five students in the fourth/fifth grade multiage class at Fremont Elementary.
