Raynold Carl Bondeson, 87, completed his journey home on Monday, November 22, 2021 to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” He was born to the late Carl H. and Clair Fitzgerald Bondeson on May 5, 1934. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Zylphia Mizelle Bondeson; sister, Alice Ruth; and brothers, Clarence Bondeson and Vernon Bondeson.

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from United Airlines after 41 years of service. Ray was gifted with many maintenance and repair skills.

Ray was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. He loved his church and was a dedicated and faithful servant his entire life. Ray will be remembered for the giving of his time, talents, and expertise to the ministries in which he was involved. He also served with the Gideons for many years.

He was adored by his family but also by countless others, from old friends to new acquaintances, all of whom were struck by his quiet generosity, his kind and unassuming intelligence, and his innate courteousness. Ray will be missed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church followed by service celebrating his life at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Christian Powell, Rev. Ron Helms and Rev. Jonathan NcNeese officiating. Interment will be on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived his daughters, Sharon McNeese and husband Bryan of Goldsboro and Rhonda Helms and husband Ron of Allen Park, Michigan; and six grandchildren, Lauren Kendig and husband Jordan; Kristen Landers and husband Daniel, Jonathan McNeese and wife Ashley, Brandon Helms, Rebecca Taylor and husband, Ryan and Braden Helms; and seven great-grandchildren, Jack Landers, Alice McNeese, Palmer Kendig, Saylor Helms, Knox Taylor, Thomas Kendig, Amy Jane McNeese and was anticipating the birth of two more great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Ramona Poole of Clinton, ME; Elaine Chamberlain of Van Buren, ME and Carlene Heinlein and husband Bob of Virginia Beach, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
