(GDN) — On Thanksgiving morning, a group of staff and volunteers were busy cooking up a delicious meal of turkey with all of the trimmings at the Community Soup Kitchen in Goldsboro. Some of the preparations for the meal actually began on Wednesday. On Thanksgiving morning, the people started forming a line outside of the building. Due to COVID-19 protocols, this year, the people weren’t able to come in and sit down to enjoy their hot meal. Instead they were met at the door where they were given the number of plates they asked for. The meal service started at 11 AM. By 12 noon, the Community Soup Kitchen had given out nearly 300 plates of hot delicious Thanksgiving meals.
