Think Local When Shopping This Saturday

(GDN) — Today is Black Friday as stores across the U.S. crank up the deals to attract customers eager to start their holiday shopping.

While larger retailers get much of the attention today, smaller stores your community will also look to attract business this holiday season.

Councilman Charles Gaylor read the Small Business Saturday Proclamation at the last Goldsboro City Council meeting urging residents to shop small and shop local.

The proclamation states, “Small businesses employ 47.1% of the employees in the private sector in the United States.”

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses are responsible for over 65% of net new jobs created from 2000 to 2019.

This Saturday, November 27 is Small Business Saturday across the nation.
