Wanda Faye Williamson Walston

Wanda Faye Williamson Walston

November 17, 2021, 62, Goldsboro –

Wanda Faye Williamson Walston, 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Although her departure from this life was unexpected and seems unfair, her welcome in Heaven had been prepared. Wanda was born in Gary, Indiana to the late Wiley Lynwood Williamson and Rachel Merritt Williamson on March 15, 1959.

For many years, Wanda owned and operated Wanda’s and the Howling Moon Saloon in Goldsboro. Patrons always found a friend in Wanda, as she’d shoot pool right alongside the best of them—so long as they were willing to lose! Known to have a huge heart for others, she was constantly giving and reaching out to others. Strangers were never recognized as such, for Wanda established relationships with each person instantly. Striking up conversations with everyone, Wanda never took life too seriously. She was always carrying joy in her spirit and offering her wit to make others laugh.

Above all, Wanda loved time spent with her family. Traveling with them, dining around the table, catching up on the most recent news, or any other time that they could enjoy each other’s presence was a most valued possession. She was the glue that held them all together, and her passing leaves a tremendous void.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Wanda’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 25 years, Donnie Walston; brother, Andy Williamson and wife Rebecca; and nieces, Britany N. Hanchey and husband Austin and Kayla Jordan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be may be given in her memory to rescue animals with the Wayne County Animal Shelter, 1600 Clingman Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
