Robert Bailey Gates passed away November 15, 2021. He was born in South Boston, Virginia to the late Robert H. Gates and Isabella Bailey Gates on August 2, 1941. In addition to his parents, Bailey is preceded in death by a son, Michael David Gates.

Bailey’s family will receive friends for a time of visitation and fellowship on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Bailey is survived by his son, Brian Gates and wife, Norma; step-children, Steve Smith and wife, Yuzette, and Stacey Savage and husband, Marshall; grandchildren, Kinley, Bailee, Loryn, and Michael; and brother, Robert H. Gates, Jr.
