Donna Grady Thomas

November 17, 2021, 74, Goldsboro –

Donna Grady Thomas, 74, departed this world to live in the delight of her Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Donna was born in Wayne County on June 8, 1947 to the late Granger Earl Grady and Mildred Head Grady.

A dedicated employee of Wayne County Public Schools, Donna retired after 39 years of faithful service. The virtue of service above self was ingrained into Donna’s being. Following her retirement, she dedicated her days to serving families of hospice patients at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Never seeking reward or praise, Donna showed the love of Christ to both friends and strangers.

A long-time member of Falling Creek Baptist Church, Donna more recently became involved in the ministries of Selah Christian Church. Finding her place in several ministries, Donna was very involved in the life of her church.

All in God’s perfect timing, Donna found the love of her life. Soon after she and Charlie met, they understood their destiny and united in marriage. From that point forward, you hardly ever saw one without the other. Their bonds of love and friendship were unparalleled, and the two enjoyed life together for 15 years.

Donna is survived by her husband, Charlie Thomas; sisters, Sandra Ryan and Lori Grady; and brother, Glenn Grady; step-sons, Chuck Thomas and wife Lori and Scott Thomas; and grandchildren, Morgan Thomas, Aaron Thomas and Bailey Thomas. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Teresa Downey and Linda Sullivan; brother-in-law, Earl Thomas and wife Kelly; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Grady and brother-in-law, Bobby Ryan.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
