November 20, 2021, 79, Hope Mills –

Aver Fay Smith Olson, 79, of Hope Mills, passed away on Saturday at Haymount Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Mabel Glen Best Smith, and was the wife of Robert “Bob” Olson. Mrs. Olson was a member of Fayetteville Community Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also very fond of her numerous Shar-peis.

A service of love and remembrance will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A. M. at the funeral home.

In addition to her husband of 49 years, Mrs. Olson is survived by her children, Angie Rose and husband, Nick of Goldsboro, Manny Leano and wife, Trish of Vacaville, CA, Andre Olson and wife, Sarah of Alameda, CA, and Robin Gabor and husband, Chris of St. Simons Island, GA; a brother, Johnny Smith of Mt. Olive; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
