(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — So far, some 24,000 kids between 5 and 11 year old in North Carolina have received their first dose of Pfizer’s pediatric COVID-19 vaccine, and about one million more residents have received a COVID booster dose. With the holidays coming up soon, UNC infectious diseases specialist Dr. David Wohl says the clock is ticking to get vaccinated in time to safely attend get-togethers.  State DHHS data, through Wednesday, shows 56 percent of the state’s population is fully vaccinated.  Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away.
