Donna Jones Newsome, 57, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Although her departure from this life seems unfair, her welcome in Heaven had been prepared and her arrival was no less grand beyond compare. DonnaMac, as she was affectionally called by her family, was born in Wayne County to the late Linda Vaughan Grant and the late Benjamin Franklin Jones on August 27, 1964.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Donna’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.

Donna is survived by her son, James Thomas “T.J” Goodman; sister, Kelly Ziegler and husband, Jason; brother, Ricky Teel and wife, Kriss; niece, Bella Teel; nephews, Garrett Pyle and Sawyer Teel; step-father, J.W. Grant; aunt, Betty Jo Smith and husband, Kay, and her uncle, Bill Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
