UPDATE: Attempted Murder Suspect Apprehended After Goldsboro Standoff

A suspect surrenders following a standoff with law enforcement in Goldsboro.  The situation unfolded at a residence on the 200 block of Johnson Lane near Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.  U.S. Marshals went to the home to arrest 28-year-old Deanta J. Beamon Tuesday morning.  However, Beamon would not exit the home leading to an hours’ long standoff.  Assistance from the Goldsboro Police Department was requested.  The Goldsboro Police Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team responded.  The tense situation finally ended after 1:30 PM when the CNT talked Beamon into coming out of the home and he was taken into custody.  Beamon was wanted on warrants out of Pitt County for Attempted First Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
