Suspect Surrenders After Standoff Near Seymour Johnson AFB

An attempted murder suspect is apprehended after a law enforcement standoff in Goldsboro.  The U.S. Marshals Task Force was attempting to take the individual into custody for an Attempted Murder warrant and other charges out of Pitt County on Tuesday.  The suspect barricaded themselves inside a residence in Seymour Homes.  The Goldsboro Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team responded.  After a few hours, the suspect was taken into custody without injury or further incident.  The Goldsboro Police Department says the suspect’s identity is not available at this time.
