Linda Kay Hixon

October 25, 2021, 55, La Grange –

Linda Kay Hixon, 55, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, October 25, 2021 at her home. Born on May 28, 1966 in Franklin County, Alabama, Linda was the daughter of the late William Thomas Hixon and Lissie Pearl Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Clark.

Enjoying the beauty of creation was Linda’s favorite pastime. From camping and fishing to riding bikes, any time spent outdoors was glorious. Trips to the beach to experience the salt air and crashing waves were priceless. She considered the Cliffs of the Neuse her “happy place”, and visited as often as possible. Going for a hike on one of the many trails was where she could find the most contentment.

With a fishing pole in hand and her soulmate, Craig, by her side, the two spent many happy days on the water. Linda and Craig didn’t care what they caught as long as the fish were biting. From fishing in local ponds to fishing in the ocean, any spot was fair game for their excursions. If the two weren’t fishing, you could often find them enjoying a ride on their bicycles throughout the countryside.

Nearly forty years ago, Linda and Craig found in each other lifelong friends, companions, and soulmates. Meeting for the first time at “The Packhouse”, the two continued spending Friday nights and Ladies Nights together at their meeting place. Like many, their relationship had its ups and downs, but the two were destined to be with each other. Through thick and thin, they could depend on each other, and Craig made sure to be with Linda even into her last days.

A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Robert Goff and Chris Rogerson officiating.

Linda is survived by her companion, Craig Alphin; mother-in-law Geralleen Wood; brother, James Clark; sisters, Frances Stroud and Frankie Marshall; and special friend, Judy Rouse.
