October 15, 2021, 91, Goldsboro –

Billy Crumpler, age 91, passed away Friday morning at the Brian Center in Goldsboro, NC. Born in Johnston County, NC, he was the son of the late Albert and Lecta Batten Crumpler and the husband of the late Frances Joyce Crumpler. A member of Rosewood Baptist Church, he was retired with Textilease and was then a self-employed wholesale distributor, known as “The Candyman”.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Vernon Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Billy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Pam Crumpler; his daughter, Jenny Lou Crumpler Patterson and companion, Bill Skinner;  his brother, Darwin Crumpler; grandchildren, Derek Crumpler and fiancée, Lauren Phillips and Adam Crumpler and wife, Chelsea; great grandchildren, Liam Braxton, Harlan Ogus, Saylor Ogus, Callie Elizabeth Crumpler.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Crumpler, Kendell Crumpler and Mattie Joyce Hinton.
