Noah Jesse Daw, Jr.

Noah Jesse Daw, Jr.

October 8, 2021, 77, Goldsboro –

Noah Jesse Daw, Jr., 77, passed from the bonds of this earth to rejoice in the heavens on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Noah was born in Wayne County to the late Noah Jesse Daw, Sr. and Mary Viola Hare Daw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Elizabeth Pate Daw; and his brothers, Rayborn Daw and Alton Daw.

A love of farming ran deep in Noah’s spirit. He grew up on the family farm and spent the first half of his working career farming tobacco, corn and soybeans. He spent the remainder of his career in Poultry Farming. Noah was a hard-working man, which was the theme of his life. He loved his home on the farm and lived there for all of his years. He was a man of great faith and a longtime member of Free Chapel P.F.W.B. Church

Noah believed in doing things his way. He could be hard-headed and strong-willed at times but he had a gentle and caring heart and his love for family and friends ran deep, especially for his grandchildren.

The outdoors brought Noah some of his happiest moments. This is where he felt closest to the Lord. Pulling in a speckled trout on his fishing line was always sure to bring a smile to his face. He always looked forward to going fishing and would go every chance he could. Another favorite pastime for Noah was watching his favorite sports, whether it was the Pittsburgh Pirates, his favorite major league baseball team or the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, his favorite college team or just watching his grandchildren’s games or events. Noah loved watching sports.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Free Chapel P.F.W.B Church followed by a service to celebrate Noah’s life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Dane Williford and Rev. Ronnie Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park. Social distancing is requested and face coverings are encouraged when speaking with the family.

Noah is survived by his children, Troy Barrett Daw and wife April, Rodney Scott Daw and wife Laureen, Angela Daw Wallace-Wiggins and spouse Rita, and Rebecca Carole Blum and husband Seth; three step-children, Teresa Smith and husband Doc, James Robert Anderson Jr., and Carma Leigh Brown and husband Greg; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Deleanor Daw and wife Sandra; and sisters, Connie Gurganus and husband Jimmy and Millie Hardison and husband Ferrell. He is also survived by a special friend, Lauretta Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in his memory to Free Chapel P.F.W.B. Church, c/o Gerald Brown, 187 Vance Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
