Downtown Fountain Turned Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Downtown Goldsboro is showing its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Wednesday afternoon, representatives from Wayne UNC Health Care, Southeastern Medical Oncology, and the City of Goldsboro were on hand as the downtown fountain at the corner of Center and Walnut streets was turned pink for the month of October.

The purpose of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to continue to raise awareness of the disease within the community. Wayne UNC Health Care and Southeastern Medical Oncology Center work diligently to provide screening services and cancer care for breast cancer patients in Wayne County. Women are encouraged to use this month to schedule a screening. Late night and Saturday mammogram appointments are available to the public at Wayne UNC Health Care.
