WCPS Keeps Masks Mandatory For At Least Another Month

Wayne County Public Schools will maintain its mandatory masking policy for another month.  At this week’s meeting, the Wayne County Board of Education voted 5 -1 and approved maintaining the existing PreK-12 masking requirements for students, staff and visitors.  During the meeting, it was shared 372 WCPS students have avoided exclusion from class over the past three weeks because state quarantine requirements exempt students who are named a “close contact” in school settings from exclusion if masks were being worn appropriately and consistently in school settings by both the person with COVID-19 and the potentially exposed student.
