Maxine Bryan Lipscomb

September 24, 2021, 87, Goldsboro –

Maxine Bryan Lipscomb, age 87, passed away on Friday at home with her family by her side. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Lisker Allen Bryan and Maude Elizabeth Creel Bryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lipscomb along with the fathers of her children, Kenneth Howell, Sr. and Ollin Denning. Maxine was also the mother of the late Kenneth Howell, Jr. and Michael Howell and sister of the late Virginia Sullivan, Edna Earle Grantham, Marie Brown and Thomas Carroll Bryan. Maxine was a CNA and attended The First Church in Goldsboro.

A service to celebrate Maxine’s life will be held Tuesday at 7:00 pm at The First Church with Pastor Bill Rose and Pastor John Howard officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church. A committal service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Jordans Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Grantham Community.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Howell Parrish (Danny); her son, George Denning (Barbara); her daughters in law, Gail Howell and Diane Howell; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and her special friends, Pat Anderson and Joan Daly.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Community Home and Hospice and Well Care Home Care for the loving care they provided to Maxine.
