Smithfield Foods Makes Donation For Pickles, Pigs & Swigs

An upcoming community event in Mount Olive gets a boost thanks to Smithfield Foods.  On Friday, Smithfield Foods announced it was donating 20 hogs for Pickles, Pigs & Swigs in Mount Olive.  Pickles, Pigs & Swigs is set for Saturday, November 20. It will feature a North Carolina Pork Council-sanctioned whole hog cooking competition, which gets underway Friday, November 19.  Pickles, Pigs & Swigs will benefit the Mount Olive Downtown Development Corporation.  Besides the Mt. Olive Pickles, pork barbecue, and local craft beer from R&R Brewery, the event will include live bluegrass music, antique tractors and the Pickle Train.
