Michael Bass, 60, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home. Born in Wayne County on December 23, 1960, he was the son of the late Chester Bass and Ruby Mason Bass.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Edgerton.

Michael is survived by his wife, Sherry E. Bass; daughter, Stacy Lancaster (Joey); sons, Mason Bass and Jordan Edgerton (Ashley); siblings, Bonnie Allen, Alton Bass, Danny Bass, and Connie Lee; grandsons, Layton Edgerton and Maddox Edgerton; and several nieces and nephews. Michael is also survived by Sherry’s family, his mother-in-law, Annie Edgerton; brother-in-law, Keith Edgerton (Cyndi); and sister-in-law, Jenny Raye.

A service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Adam Street presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service as well as following the service.
