September 17, 2021, 80, Goldsboro –

Carol Moore Franks, 80, began rest in her eternal home on Friday, September 17, 2021. Carol was born in Wayne County to the late James Victor Moore and Senie Ermine Hales Moore on May 31, 1941. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett M. Franks; son, Danny Franks; and brothers, James Richard Moore and William Edward Moore.

Carol was the valued bookkeeper for Garris – Franks Construction for over 25 years. Carol was a true Christian lady who loved God and lived each day showing those around her what faith in action is all about. She was caring, giving, loving, and yes — feisty! She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro and served in the Women’s Auxiliary at the church for many years.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at The First Free Will Baptist Church, 604 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Carol’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Carol is survived by her children, Joe Strouse and wife Sonya, Deborah Long and husband Tim, Melissa Sauls and husband Dale, and Patricia Allen and husband Michael Kauff; grandchildren, Stephen Strouse and wife Chelsea, Austin Long, Zachary Long, Haley Allen, Katelyn Franks, Josiah Sauls and Abigail Sauls. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Donald Franks; and aunt, JoAnn Davy.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
