“Mayor Chuck Allen Day” In The City Of Goldsboro

Today, Tuesday, September 21, has been declared “Mayor Chuck Allen Day” in the City of Goldsboro.  At Monday’s City Council meeting, current Mayor David Ham read a proclamation in Allen’s honor and presented it to Allen’s family. 

The proclamation states, “Mayor Allen’s tireless efforts made Goldsboro a better place to live, and have left a legacy that will be remembered by many for the foreseeable future.

Goldsboro City Hall and other city offices will be closing early today so employees can pay tribute to former Mayor Chuck Allen, who passed away on Friday.  City offices will close at 3 PM today for Mayor Chuck Allen’s Celebration of Life service. Goldsboro City Offices will reopen at 8 AM on Wednesday, September 22.

In honor of Mayor Allen, United States, North Carolina, and City of Goldsboro flags have been lowered to half-staff on city properties until sunset this evening.
