September 16, 2021, 83, Goldsboro –

Master Sergeant Alfred F. Lipscomb, 83, passed away on September 16, 2021 after a lengthy illness in Goldsboro, North Carolina.   Alfred was a decorated veteran who served in the United States Air Force for thirty years.

Master Sergeant Lipscomb was born on September 10, 1938 in Baltimore Maryland to his parents, Bertha May Matthews and James Lipscomb who preceded him in death.

Alfred traveled to many countries and states during his military career.  He received many medals and accommodations for his service. He also earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration. 

Alfred was an accomplished musician who played the saxophone and the piano.  He loved to take pictures and he also spent lot of time on the computer.

Alfred was a loving husband and father.  He is survived by his wife Ernie and five children, Maria, Nicole, Ametra, Adia, and Jaylen and a host grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by us all.  We loved him and will keep his memory is our hearts.

A private service will be held.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
