Nearly 60,000 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County. Thursday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 59,702 people have received at least one vaccine dose, representing 48% of the county’s population. 51,378 people have been fully vaccinated, which is just 42% of Wayne County’s population.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to increase in Wayne County, with 842 new cases reported in the last 14 days. Wayne County has now recorded 280 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began (four more since this time last week).
