Wayne Community College will host a mini-job fair this Wednesday, Sept. 15.
The event will feature JMA Placement Inc., a staffing company with a footprint across the southeastern United States.
It will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center on the main campus in Goldsboro.
The fair is free and open to the public.
“This is a one-stop event where you can talk to the employer, fill out an application online, and get an initial screening, all in one day,” said WCC Director of Career Development Elvira Johnson.
Each of those functions will be set up as a separate station and they will be spread out in the room to allow for social distancing, she added.
Johnson said that JMA has numerous full- and part-time positions available and office, technician, production, and trade posts that need to be filled in the local area.
Some of the 34 jobs that JMA lists in the Goldsboro area are assembler, warehouse workers, machine operators, maintenance technicians, forklift operators, housekeepers, welders, and HVAC technicians.
Job seekers can also use the college’s online career services platform, College Central Network, available at www.collegecentral.com/waynecc/. Once they register, users can search open positions, upload a résumé, and create a shareable portfolio to showcase examples of their work for employers.
Face masks are required on the WCC campus at all times indoors and when appropriate social distance cannot be maintained outside.
