September 7, 2021, 89, Dudley –

Elise Wise Creech, age 89, passed away Tuesday evening at Wayne/UNC Healthcare.  Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Christine Best Wise.  She was a former self-employed CNA and floral designer with Parkside Florist. A member of Brownings United Methodist Church, she was a past member of Eureka Christian Church where she was a member of the UMW.

A service to celebrate Elise’s life will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Ann Higgins and Rev. Arthur Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.  A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband James “Jim” Edwin Creech; sons, William David Higgins, Ronald Wayne Higgins and Michael J. Higgins; daughters, Patricia Ayscue and Angela Sue Markovetz; stepchildren, Jim Creech, Jr. and Kaye Matthews; Uncle, Everette Wise; fourteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several cousins.
