September 6, 2021, 83, Mount Olive –

Bobby F. Strickland, 83, resident of the Mount Olive area, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, September 6, 2021.

As owner and operator of Strickland’s Heating and Air, he was always very considerate of those who called on his expertise for work, and he tried to always look after his customers the best he could. Regarded as being a number one air conditioning man, he also did plumbing. A generous man, he was a great husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, and father-in-law, just a good, humble man. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with others.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Dail and the Rev. Chris Watkins, followed by a time of visitation. Burial will be Friday, September 10, at 11 a.m. at the Holloman-Anderson Cemetery behind the residence. Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Faye Bland Strickland; son, Franklin Strickland and wife, Teela, of Faison; daughters, Janet Hill and husband, D. J. of Pikeville, Brenda McIntosh of Mount Olive, Virginia Knowles and husband, Brian, of Mount Olive, and Alice Anderson of Mount Olive; sisters, Myrtle Thompson of Mount Olive, Barbara Ann Foenin and husband, Tom, of Goldsboro, and Lena Venable and husband, Joe, of Dudley; and brother, Raven Strickland of Dudley; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Strickland; his parents, Carl and Mae McCullen Strickland; and brothers, Edward, Elton, and Carroll Strickland.
