Women’s Soccer: UMO Tames Newberry 3-0 In Road Battle

Newberry, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women’s soccer team took a 3-0 victory over the Wolves of Newberry College on Wednesday night.
 
Game Information
Mount Olive grabbed the early momentum as Emily Hein secured her third goal of the season in the 17th minute. Neither team was able to add a goal for the remainder of the half and the Trojans took the advantage into the break.

In the second Amanda McLeod (Olivia Womack)and Jaslyn Gott (Shaunalee Govia) both picked up their first goals of the season in the 64th and 87th minutes respectively. The two scores in the second put the game out of reach as the Trojans held the Wolves to just four shots in the final half.

Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Hein, McLeod, and Gott who each drove home a goal for UMO. 

Wolves Leaders
Newberry was led by Jaidyn Jacobs who had six of NC’s 8 shots in the game.
