Mr. Nathaniel “Sweetie” Kornegay, 64, passed on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at home. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00am at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. There will be viewing held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremation.

Nathaniel Kornegay was born January 6, 1957 in Goldsboro, NC to Mother Beulah McKinney Kornegay and the late Leonard Franklin Kornegay. Nathaniel is survived by his son, Tavares Kornegay of Portland, Oregan; his mother, Beulah Kornegay of the home; his sisters: Minister Linda (William) Singleton of Moody, Alabama and Minister Diane (Milford) Best of Goldsboro, NC; his brothers: Perry Kornegay and Timothy Kornegay both of Dudley, NC, Donald Kornegay of Goldsboro, NC and Benjamin (Loretta) Jonah Kornegay of Jacksonville, Florida; four aunts: Doris Atkinson and Audrey Hill both of Goldsboro, NC, Mary Kornegay and Bernice Kornegay both of Dudley, NC and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, a very special friend, Eugene (Melinda) Hobbs and a special friend, Laura Glaspie. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Franklin Kornegay Jr.
